At present, GreenHorizon is engaged in multiple projects that focus on working towards a transition to truly sustainable living and thereby minimising carbon emissions and helping both the environment and humanity thrive together again. These projects encompass a range of work such as starting food forests, reestablishing commons, community kitchens, founding eco villages, youth outreach, habitat restoration and permaculture educating. Join our work to make a real difference in the world, both here and now and longterm. The world needs you
It is our most important initiative right now is to purchase agricultural land to establish volunteer-run food forests and re-establish the commons. We believe that everyone should have access to fresh, free, healthy food and that the land should be shared and cared for by the community. Join us in creating a sustainable future for all.
Our volunteer community kitchens will be open to everyone, providing free, nutritious meals made from the fresh produce of our food forests. Come and join us for a warm and welcoming environment, where you can enjoy free, tasty and nutritious meals.
At this point the impact of climate change is inevitable and we need to prepare. That is why we aim to build self sustaining walkable city housing neighbourhoods and eco villages of natural, non toxic materials that prioritise the environment and human thriving and safety alike. They will revive the local close knit community as well as community owned amenities and facilities
Through the GH International Community Membership, you can be a nomadic global citizen, if you so wish. You can live and stay in any GH village in exchange for a few hours of work per week. Very much like the current working holiday schemes most are familiar with. Only this will be a way of life. One where you will likely only be working half as much as you do now, if not less, for an infinitely better quality of life.
We are dedicated to the restoration of habitats and rewilding of areas that have been negatively impacted by human activity. Our approach involves the conscious planting of native species and the restoration of habitats that support wildlife. Our ultimate goal is to create a more sustainable environment for generations to come. Saving nature means saving ourselves
We want to create a world where you can borrow most things you might need from a local library. If you for example need a monkey wrench for a DIY project you can go borrow one from the tool library. This concept can be applied to many other things like, clothes, baby equipment, instruments, sports equipment etc. Anything you can rent now, you would be able to borrow for free from a library.
